Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, founder of the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association (DRBA) and the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas (CTTB), during his entire life, hoped that for all living beings in the Dharma Realm would rid themselves of suffering, attain bliss, and live in a world of peace and harmony. Therefore, the Venerable Master practiced continuous recitation of the Shurangama Mantra and the Great Compassion Mantra.

As disciples of the Venerable Master, we should be inspired by his great vows, and take advantage of the opportunity to participate with others reciting the Shurangama Mantra or the Great Compassion Mantra, and thereby repay the kindness of Buddhas and the Venerable Master.

We welcome all Buddhists and virtuous cultivators to join in this great public effort of reciting the Shurangama Mantra or the Great Compassion Mantra. The collective merit of this event will be dedicated as follows: to all sentient beings in the Dharma Realm to aid them in eliminating their sufferings and attain bliss, to promote peace and harmony in the world, and to foster the successful completion of the construction of the Wonderful Enlightenment Mountain project!

Whether you can recite the Shurangama Mantra or the Great Compassion Mantra from memory or by reading, you are welcome to participate in this collective undertaking. Any number of recitations that you can do is welcome. As it is said, “The unified resolve of the assembly is an impregnable stronghold.” Your resolve to support this undertaking, your earnest cultivation of the Way and your dedication of that merit herewith are very significant! We are sure that you will be blessed by the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and all Protectors!
